In the job requirements the job description, there is a section that asks for 2 years of experience with "Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo gaming consoles". This might seem like a lot however, previous EA job advertisements haven't listed Nintendo as a part of their criteria.
EA could be looking at the possibility of releasing. It's worth remembering that back in June 2020, EA confirmed it would release seven Switch games during the 12 month time frame. We have six confirmed games since June 2020, including Apex Legends, which was announced just this week.
This leaves one more game to go. However, considering the schedule of Madden's annual releases, EA could potentially be waiting for the release of Madden NFL 22 (as rather than a Madden NFL 21 port - given that they normally release in August. Let's hope it's not another old version.

This weekend is set to play host to Super Bowl 55, the finale of one the most turbulent seasons in the NFL ever played. The competing teams for this year's game have been decided. In a match of the top NFL quarterbacks Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes The Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Electronic Arts will celebrate the Super Bowl by running a Madden NFL simulation, as has become a custom. The current Madden NFL 21 simulation appears to predict a great game.
The overall winner of the Madden NFL 21 Super Bowl simulation is the Kansas City Chiefs, who defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady with the score of 37-27. EA has not provided any statistical breakdowns or play-by-play information for the simulation. The game did reveal that the Buccaneers have a lead at the start of the game at 13-7, however the Kansas City Chiefs lead by cheap Madden 22 coins at half-time. Both teams' offenses go off in the second half.
